SELF LEVELLING FLOOR COMPOUND

Conforms to BS 8203 Clause 18.3.

DESCRIPTION:

A fast setting, protein free, cement based formulation for self levelling rough and uneven floors and screeds in preparation to laying a floor covering. It gives a strong, fast setting, free-flowing mix which will not shrink or crack. Adding Flexmaster admix will increase flexibility, durability and adhesion strength.

USES:

For smoothing concrete floors and screeds prior to the application of ceramic tiles, lino, and thin wooden blocks, laminate flooring, carpet and other floor coverings. When mixed with Flexmaster additive will increase flexibility, durability, water resistance and bond strength of mix and in so doing the surface will be suitable for direct foot traffic, light vehicle traffic and application to asphalt and timber based flooring. APPLICATION:

CONCRETE

Surface must be free of dirt and loose dust particles. Prepare surface by priming with 4 parts water to 1 part Flexmaster. New concrete should be allowed to harden for a minimum of 4 weeks. Mix by adding powder to water, approximately 5L water to 20K leveller.  Mix ideally with an electric paddle until you obtain a lump free compound similar in consistency to single cream.  When mixed pour a small quantity onto the prepared surface and trowel down lightly.  Follow immediately with further layers to a maximum depth of 6mm.  It will start to harden 45 to 60 minutes after application.  For a depth greater than 6mm, add clean sharp sand conforming to B.S.1199 for Floor Screeds, not exceeding 2 parts sand to 1 part compound by volume. Allow to harden and dress surface with a direct mix of leveller for a smooth finish.

UNDERFLOOR HEATING

The heating unit must be switched off and allowed to cool down prior to application.  After application the heating must NOT be turned on for at least 24 hours.  When turned on temperature must be increased slowly on a daily basis.

SCREED

Screed should be left for a minimum of 12 hours until sufficiently dry to accept the final dressing of leveller.  Setting time will depend on atmospheric temperatures, it will be slowed by lower temperatures and accelerated by higher temperatures. Do not use below 4’C

COVERAGE: 20k pack will cover approx.12 sq metres at 1mm to 1.5mm solid bed depth

STORAGE: Store in a cool dry area. Shelf life should be approximately 6 months.

LIMITATIONS: Do not use in areas subject to permanent water immersion.
