FLEXIBLE RAPID SET FLOOR TILE ADHESIVE
SPECIFICATION CATEGORY:
Conforms to BS 5980
Type 1 Class AA requirements
DESCRIPTION:
Specially formulated
to give extra flexibility and adhesion when rapid fixing of ceramic, mosaic, composite,
quarry, terracotta, porcelain, slate, marble, limestone and natural stone
tiles, internally and externally.
Its rapid setting
capability allows for light foot traffic after 3 hours. Adding Flexmaster admix will increase flexibility,
durability and adhesion strength.
ADVANTAGES:
- Flexible fast
setting formula
- Walk on and
Grout after 3 hours
- Essential for
areas of movement
- Underfloor
heating
- Single part, simply add powder to
water.
USES:
Primarily developed for tiling on to substrates where a
minimum of movement or vibration is prevalent, such as plywood, chipboard and
underfloor heating. Will fix ceramic porcelain,
slate, limestone, marble, natural stone, mosaics and composite tiles, without
requiring additives.
If in doubt please refer to our “Tile to Substrate “guide
or call our 24 hr helpline on 01257 269243.
APPLICATION:
Only mix small quantities at a time until you have become
accustomed to the fast setting nature of the product. Always mix powder to water and mix to a
buttery consistency, never add water after initial mixing, as this will impair
the strength of the adhesive. As an
approximate guide for powder to water ratio, 20K of powder requires
approximately 5L of water.
THIN
BED
On flat, even substrate where dry conditions exist, apply
adhesive to substrate as a thin floated coat at a uniform thickness of 3mm and
then rib using a notched trowel or spreader.
Bed tiles into adhesive using a twisting action ensuring full coverage
of adhesive between tile and substrate. Where
tiling is subject to frequent wet conditions such as in showers, in addition,
apply as a solid bed a thin layer of adhesive to the back of the tile before
applying to the substrate.
THICK
BED
Where substrate conditions do not allow thin bed fixing, adhesive
should be applied to substrate as a floated coat 3mm to 6mm in thickness or
locally up to 12mm in thickness. Ensure
there are no hollow spaces or pockets of air.
It may be necessary to additionally apply adhesive to the back of the
tile.
COVERAGE: 20k
pack will cover approx.6 sq metres at 3mm thin bed application.
STORAGE: Store in
a cool dry area. Shelf life should be
approximately 6 months.
LIMITATIONS: Do
not use in areas subject to permanent water immersion such as swimming pools.
